Subject: bsc 2nd yr in IT- Posted December 16, 2007 8:06 am
Email: rajkumarmahajan [at] yahoo [dot] com

raj

i had done my bsc 2nd yr in IT FROM Vikram university ujjain can i get my admission in 2nd yr in IT if yes pl let me know the procedure

Answer by Open University Admin

Hi Raj,

The open university does not allow you to move from a course being pursued in India until you complete it. You cannot complete the third year of your bachelor of science from the UK because the curriculums vary.

You can however, complete your graduation of 3 years and then study at the open university for another graduate degree or post graduation.

Hope this helps.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

Yes, ofcourse you can. Open university degrees are just like any other degrees. You usually will need to get a good score in GMAT (general management aptitude test). Plus, if english isn't your primary langauage, you'll need to pass TOEFL too.

Yeah, hopefully your doubts will be solved once you go to the above link.

In case you are aiming to study through some Indian university, let us know. We know some other university helplines as well.

Looking forward to hear from you soon...

Answer by voluntary user(s)

pinal,

if you're looking for a degree, you'll have to go for engineering honours. Have a look at http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/bin/p12.dll?Q01B24

There's a point system in open university. This allows you to mix and match your subjects to get the final degree.

Subject: How does the point system work at Open University?- Posted December 5, 2007 6:47 pm
Email: emailless [at] btinternet [dot] com

Nameless

I was going through some courses at the open university website, but nowhere does it say what these points are, and how the points are awarded. It is very confusing to see points related to every course when I don't know how they're earned or rewarded. Can someone help me and potentially thousands others to explain what the point system is and how it works? Many thanks

Answer by voluntary user(s)

Qualifications are awarded after you have successfully acquired points by completing courses. An honours degree is 360 points. Courses can vary from 10, 15, 20, 30 or 60 points. These all build up to make the qualifications (though points will have to be reached at different levels).

Subject: horticultur courses- Posted December 5, 2007 1:08 pm

Robbie Haynes

Can you tell me if the open university offers a hoticulture or similar course?

Answer by Open University Admin

Hi Robbie,

The Open University doesn't provide a dedicated course in horticulture, but there are many other environmental courses available at: http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/bin/p12.dll?SM01 .

For a course in horticulture, there are many other good institutions that offer courses.

For example, the Institute of Horticulture UK offers some good relevant information at: http://www.horticulture.org.uk/IoHEduc.htm

If you want us to look for an institute for you, please reply to this question and tell us where in UK are you based.

Hope this helps.
