do you offer any masters in hospitalty and tourism management? I have a first degree with honours from the university of technology, jamaica and the University of the West Indies. Also, is this programme an online one?

Answer by voluntary user(s)

This isn't offered by the Open University. You could try Athabasca University in Canada, I think they offer this by distance learning.

Hi,
I am due to start my 2nd year of a foundation degree in educational support, i would like to know what courses I could do to complete my degree,
I work in a secondary school in SEN and Inclusion, i have 20 credits from a course on Autism with NTU,
I look forward to hearing from you, many thanks,
Libby

Answer by voluntary user(s)

You can credit transfer to do an unnamed degree with the OU and do two courses at Level 3 - this will probably suffice provided they give you sufficient credit for your completed study.

Don't expect to get a named degree in education from the OU though, if you credit transfer for your final year.

Could anyone who has studied the MA module ED840 Child development in families, schools and society tell me what their average weekly study time was studying this course.
Many thanks

Answer by voluntary user(s)

Most estimates would suggest this course demands about 16 hours a week. That said, it really depends on the individual (personal experience etc).

I am a qualified teacher. I have a non-honours degree from the OU . Can I do an M.A. ?

Answer by voluntary user(s)

You normally must have an Honours degree before you can do a Masters at the OU. However, the Honours degree does not have to be from the OU.

There are some exceptions, such as the MBA, where certain professional qualifications are acceptable.

I have diploma in nursing I want to do degree in sociology

Answer by voluntary user(s)

The closest that the OU offers is a BA/BSc in Social Sciences with sociology. See http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/bin/p12.dll?Q01B06#s8 for details, then scroll up and read the whole page. You may be able to claim some credit transfer (http://www3.open.ac.uk/credit-transfer/index.shtm) for your nursing diploma. If you got 60 credits you could miss out the 'free choice' element.

How can i get achance to join your collage either study distance or regular education

Answer by voluntary user(s)

The open university provides distance learning through a method called 'supported open learning' where you can study in your time. You will get help from a tutor, the student services staff at regional centres, and centralised areas such as the OU's library.
For most of the courses you dont have make any formal application but simply register yourself.
For complete information go to http://www3.open.ac.uk/study/
