please tell me about schycology and its importance .

Answer by voluntary user(s)

If you want to do Psychology, first you need to learn how to spell it!

You really need to speak to a tutor at an open day to get an indepth answer to this. I would suggest the qualification suits a huge array of careers both directly and indirectly.

It involves biological science; statistics; advanced writing skills and other transferable skills suitable for a career in business such as understanding work styles.

I want to pursue PhD through distance learning at The Open University on a specific theme on Federalism. Could you please let me know about the admission procedure and pre-qualification required?

Answer by voluntary user(s)

My advice would be to find an academic at the OU who could support you; get in contact with them informally first and then they should be able to help you with an application.

The minimum qualification will be an undergraduate honours degree. It would help you chances to have a masters too.

Subject: Family Law- Posted November 17, 2008 2:54 pm

I would like to study Family Law. How would I go about it and what courses would I need to study?

Answer by voluntary user(s)

As far as I am aware, family law is not available at the Open University. The four core courses cover only the mandatory courses for the Common Professional Examination (Public, Land, Tort, Trusts, EU, Criminal and Contract). They offer separate courses for Employment and Company Law, so I guess it is possible family law will be introduced in the future.

If you really want to study family law now though, check out the University of London's External System. They do offer such a course.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

Answered below. What I should add is that until you have studied a legal method course (such as W100 at the OU) there's not a lot of point in studying law - you won't get anything out of it until you learn how the law works.

Family law cannot be learnt in a vacuum.

Subject: Accounting courses/certificates- Posted November 17, 2008 1:45 pm
Email: andrewjmiller00 [at] googlemail [dot] com

I previously asked which courses would be appropriate to enhance my job prospects as a compliment to my Business Studies degree. The team suggested OU or approved courses elsewhere. I would like to take the course now but the OU only has courses from next year. Are there any options where I can take a course that may be don online for a fee of £30 to £100 where I will achieve a recognised certificate? Or alternatively a free library of accounting practices and test questions which I can study and then state that I am aware of in my CV

Answer by voluntary user(s)

You'll be lucky to find anything that cheap. Anything that is free will be so for a reason - it won't be any good. Accountants never give anything away for free!

Your cheapest option would be to buy some ACCA books and sit some of their exams, but that will still cost a few hundred pounds.

I finished my Msc on Forestery on 1997.And i started doing my Phd on soil and land reclamtion before 3 yeard, but i could not go on and finish it,my question is how can i study a field connected with sustainable development and ecology in Uk universities?i am from Ethiopia living in Bulgaria. And what are the criteria to come and study in Uk? Thank you for your answer.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

You can do something along those lines with the London External programme, and you can stay in Bulgaria if you want to. Alternatively, if you want to come to Britain, you'll have to speak to someone at the Home Office on immigration procedures.

I am a woman of 50 years old and have been working in HIV and AIDS programs for the past five years. I would like to study for an anthropology degree. What is the criteria required to study anthropology. I do not have any degree at all.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

Assuming you want to do this by distance learning, Lampeter University is the one for you. The OU don't offer a degree in Anthropology.

Check this link out:

http://www.lamp.ac.uk/archanth/distance/undergraduate.html

You will need to contact the university for their entry requirements. It is likely they'll want evidence of study to A-Level or equivalent.

Hello sir/ madam im victor and a graduate from niit in ghana holding a diploma in computer engineering i what any uk university which i can be admitted with my diploma.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

The Open University doesn't offer many courses in Ghana, so you would have to come to Europe to study with them. They are open entry.

I couldn't possibly comment on other universities. Each will want to see a syllabus for your diploma and will make a judgment on whether it is sufficient for admission - you will need to approach them directly.

Your best bet if you want distance learning is probably the University of London External system. They offer IT, computing and systems degrees and you can study with them anywhere in the world.

If you want to come here to study, then as I said earlier, you will need your qualification assessed by each university you apply to.
