I'm interested in taking the MSc in Medical Physics, but I'm not too sure about the OU's programme recognition with the IPEM (recognition body for medical physics in the US), as well as recognition of the education in the US. Hi, i was studying the K100, understanding health and social care, i surprised myself asnto how well i done, i didnt finish all my TMA'S, however was told i could have caught up, That was in 1995, i then later thought i' try again, but due to mental health issues at the time i failed, i did one TMA. I live in United States, and teach mathematics full time as a professional (earned BA, and two MA degrees), and I am looking into several distance learning programs for PhD in Education. I saw in the propectus that OU offers part time PhD study in Math Education. Here's my question: how feasible is for me to enroll in OU's PhD program, by means of distance education, if I can manage to conduct research in United States? Would OU allow communications and submission of drafts of dissertation through email in entirely? Would they adopt the traditional European model with PhD programs are purely research based, or would they require coursework? If indeed feasible by means of distance education, may I ask if other people had gone through similar path through OU, what were their experience? Positive? Negative?
